Picture Perfect Proposal

Anyone that knows us knows that we’re picture fanatics, we average 1500 photos every month so Cody’s proposal was probably the most creative, thought out, original and fantastic idea that anyone has ever had.

The week before Christmas he let me know that he bought us a photo session with one of my favorite photographers, Debbie Porter. I’ve wanted to take portraits for a while and her only opening was Dec. 20th so he had to give me this present early so I can have time to buy new outfits. The night of the shoot he made sure I was pampered; he paid to get my hair styled, my nails manicured, and made sure I had plenty of time to grab my outfits and get to Debbie’s studio. The session started out with me taking a few solos:
and then we took a few couple shots:

but while I was changing for our next phase he was supposed to be taking his solos but in reality he was hiding the ring under the bench we were to be sitting on.

Once on the bench Debbie posed us together, she rested my head on his chest and took a few open eyed shots then instructed me to close my eyes, after a few frames she asked me to open them, and when I did there was an open ring box before me. I was SHOCKED,

I wasn’t expecting it at all, my reaction was not to look at Cody,

so he went on bended knee, expressed his feelings for me, and then asked me if I would be his wife, I answered, "OF COURSE!" but then once the shock wore off I whispered, “you must be really lucky!”

and then we kissed

The entire time this was happening Debbie was snapping photos, obviously or we wouldn't have the above photos, it was amazing!
We then proceeded to take some engagement shots:

After we wrapped up our photo session I proceeded to do what every girl does and call up her entire family, but no one answered. No one buy Cody’s parents who invited us to have drinks at El Palenque. Still not being able to get a hold of anyone in my family I agreed to go meet up with his, and to my surprise when we walked in to the back room of the restaurant our entire families yelled SURPRISE! They were throwing us an engagement party; it was the perfect way to end our night.
